The U.S. AbilityOne Commission, through its designated central nonprofit agency National Industries for the Blind, is seeking partnerships with U.S. commercial manufacturers of component parts to co-brand and supply label cassettes for inclusion on the AbilityOne Procurement List. The required products include label cassettes in three sizes—3/8 inch, 1/2 inch, and 3/4 inch—available in white, yellow, black, and clear colors, made from polyester, nylon, or vinyl with strong residue-free adhesive and easy-peel backing, all compatible with specific federal label printer models. These products must meet or exceed all applicable Federal Acquisition Regulation standards, executive orders, and federal agency requirements, while also adhering to industry benchmarks for performance, durability, sustainability, and reliability. Each product must be rigorously tested, certified, and accompanied by necessary documentation including Material Safety Data Sheets where applicable. Manufacturers must hold a nationally recognized brand with proven commercial success and demonstrate a commitment to expanding employment opportunities for people who are blind or severely disabled by enabling the nonprofit agency to perform key manufacturing functions such as material conversion, container filling, labeling, assembly, and packaging. Prospective partners must agree to a multi-year arrangement that includes ongoing technical and production support, field-trained technical assistance, and bulk material delivery to ensure consistent supply to federal customers. Manufacturers are expected to collaborate with the AbilityOne Program on federal marketing efforts, ideally through a dedicated federal sales team, and must work transparently with NIB and the Commission to establish fair and reasonable pricing. Submissions must detail the specific tasks the nonprofit’s workforce will perform and confirm all product and operational criteria are met. Responses are due by June 24, 2026, and must be submitted electronically to the designated contact.
