The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), using state funding, is proposing a project to remove and replace failed Portland Cement Concrete slabs and grind/smoothen existing concrete joints on SR 5 in Tehama County. All work will be performed within the existing roadway prism, and no work will be performed on bridge decks. There will be no increase in disturbed soil area or impervious surface. Guardrail may be reconstructed or adjusted. This project will also include traffic stripe placement, removal and replacement of thermoplastic pavement markings, and pavement marker replacement. Roadside signs may be replaced.
