The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Office of Satellite and Product Operations intends to renew its membership with the Space Data Association Limited under a firm fixed price commercial purchase order for the period of July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. This action is being conducted as a sole source acquisition under 41 U.S.C. 1901 because the Space Data Association is the sole provider of Space Data Center Services, including satellite data collection, orbital prediction systems, deployment, maintenance, and licensing, with no authorized resellers currently operating. The procurement is classified under NAICS code 518210, which has a small business size standard of $40,000,000, though no small business status has been asserted by the vendor. Performance will occur at the NOAA Satellite Operations Facility in Suitland, Maryland, where the subscription services are utilized to support mission operations. A notice has been published to allow any interested party to submit written documentation demonstrating their capability to meet the government’s requirements, but submission is voluntary and does not obligate the government to either evaluate responses or award a contract. No competitive evaluation factors, pricing details, or contract clause listings are included in the notice, as it serves solely as a pre-solicitation announcement to justify the sole-source approach. The submission deadline for vendor responses is May 21, 2026, and inquiries must be directed to the designated Contracting Officer and Contract Specialist. No packaging, delivery, invoicing, or accounting details are specified at this stage, and no representations, certifications, or entity identifiers are provided for the vendor. The acquisition is strictly administrative and non-competitive, with the award anticipated to be issued directly to Space Data Association Limited if no viable alternative capability is demonstrated.
