THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. The USDA/ARS intends to award a Firm fixed price sole source contract under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), single source for purchase not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold, to: Thermo Electron North America LLC 1400 Northpoint Pkwy Ste 10 West Palm Beach, FL 33407-1976 Description of Requirement: The objective of this sole source award is to perform repairs on inoperable QExactive mass spectrometer to bring it back to full functionality. Minimum service will include the replacement of an embedded control circuit board that is a proprietary piece of electronics from Thermo Electron North America. Instrument will then be calibrated and tested for functionality. The NAICS code for this requirement is 334513; the small business size standard is 750 employees. The PSC code for this requirement is 6640. NO solicitation or solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement.
