The United States Coast Guard intends to award a sole-source contract to Northrop Grumman Corporation Sperry Marine for the procurement of four BridgeMaster E RADAR Systems and two Antenna Arrays. These systems, which include all necessary hardware, software, and technical manuals, will be installed at the Electronics Technician Training Center in Petaluma, California. The equipment is specifically required to support the training program for the 87 Foot Class Coastal Patrol Boat fleet, providing a platform for electronics technicians to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on cutter radar systems. Due to the proprietary nature of the technology and the need for compatibility with existing navigation systems, the government has identified Northrop Grumman as the sole source. The procurement falls under NAICS code 334511. While the intent is a sole-source award, the government will consider written proposals from other offerors who can provide identical systems, provided they submit substantiated technical and pricing data within 45 calendar days of the notice. Final award is expected by September 22, 2008, or upon the availability of funding.
