The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is conducting market research to identify potential sources capable of manufacturing and supplying the Vane Segment, Fan, AI (NSN: 2840-01-392-1282, Part Number: 2-103-090-14) for the Engines weapon system. Currently, no solicitation is available, and this notice serves solely as an informational inquiry to gauge industry capability. Due to the specialized nature of the item and the unavailability of adequate technical data or specifications, the acquisition is being pursued under a sole-source justification with FAR 6.302-1(a)(1), recognizing only one responsible source at this time. The government encourages participation from all business categories, including small businesses and disadvantaged groups, provided they meet the necessary prequalification criteria. Interested contractors should pursue source approval through the Army Aviation and Missile Command’s public website to be eligible for future competitive opportunities. The selected contractor will carry full responsibility for all aspects of production, including engineering services required to become a qualified source, managing supply chains, logistics, part forecasting, procurement of long-lead and obsolete parts, and final delivery. This includes bearing all additional costs that arise during contract performance. The sources sought notice does not represent a solicitation or a promise to award a contract and no funds are available for response preparation. Responses are strictly voluntary and are intended to assist the government in planning future procurement actions for the Vane Segment Fan required to support the weapon system. Point of contact information is provided for potential respondents seeking further information.
