SR-133 Roadway and TMS Improvements Project

The California Department of Transportation, District 12, is planning comprehensive improvements along State Route 133 between Lake Forest Drive at Post Mile 7.5 and the junction with State Route 241 at Post Mile 13.6 in Orange County, encompassing parts of the City of Irvine and unincorporated areas. The project aims to enhance safety, accessibility, and operational efficiency through upgrades to safety devices, pedestrian access, roadway lighting, traffic management systems, signing and striping, and stormwater treatment infrastructure. Minor enhancements are also planned at the interchanges with Interstate 5 and State Route 241 to support smoother traffic flow and connectivity. Two alternatives are under evaluation—the Build Alternative, which includes all proposed improvements, and the No Build Alternative, which serves as a baseline for comparison.
