The Idaho Department of Administration, Division of Purchasing, has issued a notice of intent to approve a sole source authorization for the Idaho Department of Water Resources to purchase specialized hydrologic equipment from Frontier Precision. The procurement includes a TRDI RiverPro 1200 ADCP, a RiverRay Trimaran, and an Ocean Science Q1250 Remote Controlled Boat, along with necessary mounting kits and power modules. The total estimated cost for this acquisition is $81,060.00, with a performance period spanning from February 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024. This non-competitive procurement is justified under Idaho Code section 67-9221 and IDAPA 38.05.01.045 because Frontier Precision is the sole authorized regional distributor for Teledyne RD Instruments. The equipment is critical for measuring flow in deep, non-wadable rivers up to 80 feet deep, which enhances field staff safety and supports essential projects such as the Quagga mussel infestation response. Furthermore, the selected hardware ensures seamless integration with existing USGS-tested systems and software, maintaining operational continuity and reducing the need for additional training. Delivery is set for the Idaho Department of Water Resources in Boise, with payment terms established at Net 30 days.
