REQUIREMENT
Parks Canada requires the replacement two (2) culverts within Elk Island National Park (EINP). Further description/information on each location is outlined below:
A) Hayburger Culvert:
The existing Hayburger Culvert is a galvanized, rigid steel pipe, approximately 21.0m in length, 0.5m in diameter (which is known to be undersized) and located at 53°37’53” N, 112°51’28” W. This culvert requires full replacement as it is completely blocked and suspected to be collapsed. The Hayburger Culvert is located along the Elk Island Parkway and access across this crossing may need to be maintained throughout construction. It may be possible to close the Parkway at this location, depending on expected duration of construction/closure as well as potential impacts to operations, so long as the appropriate notifications and communications are conducted.
B) Beaver Pond Culvert:
The existing Beaver Pond Culvert is a galvanized, rigid steel pipe, approximately 15.8m in length, 0.81m in diameter (which is known to be undersized) and located at 53°41’20” N, 112°48’40” W. This culvert requires full replacement. The Beaver Pond Culvert is located along the Elk Island Parkway and access across this crossing may need to be maintained throughout construction. It may be possible to close the Parkway at this location, depending on expected duration of construction/closure as well as potential impacts to operations, so long as the appropriate notifications and communications are conducted.
TWO STAGE SELECTION PROCESS
This posting is the Stage Two of a two-stage solicitation process: the first stage was to evaluate the qualifications of all interested suppliers. The second stage (Stage Two) is to invite the qualified suppliers to provide further qualifications and a financial bid on the project based on the specifications and drawings.
Only qualified suppliers have been invited to bid.
