REQUIREMENT Parks Canada requires a Prime General Contractor with heavy civil construction experience to perform the required renovation work along Highway 431 (approx. 12.4km) between the communities of Woody Point and Trout River within Gros Morne National Park, NL. In addition, the contractor will be required to reconstruct the existing access and parking lot located at the Tableland’s Trail head. The scope of work shall consist of and is not limited to ditching, channel excavation (Dry Brook), culvert replacements, culvert extensions, concrete headwall placements; guide rail replacement, asphalt cold planning, asphalt pulverization, asphalt resurfacing (2-lifts), asphalt gutter installation, shouldering and renovation work required for the Tableland’s Trail Parking area redevelopment. Further to the scope of work, bidders are advised that 15 to 20% of recycled asphalt is to be utilized in the lower lift along Highway 431– no exceptions. TWO STAGE SELECTION PROCESS This posting is the Stage Two of a two-stage solicitation process: the first stage was to evaluate the qualifications of all interested suppliers. The second stage (Stage Two) is to invite the qualified suppliers to provide a financial bid on the project based on the specifications and drawings. Only qualified suppliers have been invited to bid.
