The National Institutes of Health, specifically the National Eye Institute, intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Andor Technology for the procurement of a stage-top incubator system. This acquisition includes an incubator with digital CO2 mixing and an Oko-Lab stage insert 2xGS-M. These add-on upgrades are designed to integrate with an existing on-site system to enable high-speed live-cell confocal imaging, utilizing a BC43 incubator to capture images significantly faster than point scanner-based systems. Because the items are specific upgrades for current equipment and the manufacturer sells directly without resellers, the government is pursuing this as a brand-name-only procurement under FAR 13.106-1 (b). The procurement is categorized under NAICS code 334519 and is structured as a Firm Fixed Price contract to be performed in Bethesda, Maryland. Interested parties were requested to submit capability statements to the point of contact, Lisa Ingram, by July 19, 2023. This special notice serves to determine if other sources can provide the required items and services before the government proceeds with the sole source award to Andor Technology.
