THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY This Request for Information (RFI) is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise and experience to meet the requirements for the design, testing and production of approximately 20 Standard Aircraft Staircase Trucks. Companies responding to this market research are placed on notice that participation in this questionnaire is strictly voluntary. Respondents are neither obligated to participate in future solicitations nor are they guaranteed any contract awards. The Government will not reimburse participants for any expenses associated with their participation in this survey. Below is brief description of the vehicle, followed by questions which allow you to provide information on your company. Should you have literature that describes the business capabilities of your company, such may be sent via e-mail. The current specifications are provided with this RFI (DRAFT A-A-59888 SCT 13062019.docx). The attached Commercial Item Description (CID) A-A-59888 is a draft and subject to minor changes prior to the solicitation period. Responses and questions relative to this market research should be addressed to Kevin Beck at kevin.beck.8@us.af.mil and Edwin Prime at edwin.prime.1@us.af.mil in the Support Equipment and Vehicles Division Contracting Office (AFLCMC/WNKA). Interested sources should submit RFI responses no later than 5:00 PM EST, Friday, 19 July 2019. Vehicle Information The Standard Aircraft Boarding Staircase Truck is a modified commercial vehicle utilized for passenger boarding and deplaning of military and commercial aircraft on Government installations. The aircraft staircase shall be compatible with the B-707, B-727, B-737, B-747, B-757, B-767, B-777, A-300, A-320, A-340, and their military derivatives, ranging from a height of 96 to 228-inches. The staircase feature shall be mounted on a commercial chassis with a JP-8 or F-24 compatible diesel engine, modified to meet all commercial and military requirements in the current specification. Additionally, the vehicle shall operate in extreme environmental conditions and be air transportable on C-5 and C-17 aircraft. CID A-A-59888 is the performance specification for the Aircraft Staircase.
