Full Description
The purpose of this multi-component NOFO is to improve the health of pregnant and postpartum women and their newborns through quality improvement. CDC will fund two components.
Component A will support state Perinatal Quality Collaboratives (PQCs). PQCs are state-based organizations that support quality improvement (QI) efforts in health facilities and whose approach has been successful in improving outcomes for moms and their babies. Key expected strategies for Component A include strengthening PQC capacity, conducting data-driven QI initiatives, building and strengthening data systems, and developing partnerships to improve coordination and alignment of perinatal QI initiatives.
Component B will support an organization to serve as the coordinating center for the National Network of PQCs (NNPQC). NNPQC supports all PQCs across the US, providing coordination, technical assistance and crucial opportunities for collaboration between PQCs and other relevant partners. Key expected strategies for Component B include understanding and strengthening PQC capacity, developing partnerships to improve coordination and alignment in efforts to support PQCs, fostering connections and collaborations among PQCs, and disseminating resources and best practices to PQCs and partners.
Expected outcomes include increased implementation of successful, data-driven QI initiatives, ultimately leading to improved healthcare services, increased continuity and coordination of healthcare services and improved health outcomes for women and newborns across the US.
