Statistical Programming & Analysis

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP), Arthritis, Epilepsy and Quality of Life Branch, contemplates award of a Firm Fixed Price Sole Source Purchase Order to MGC Data Service, Carlsbad, CA, for services to analyze public population-based impact of arthritis conditions in the United States. The period of performance is scheduled for twelve (12) months, beginning with award of the purchase order. Work performance shall be at the Contractor's Site. The North American Industrial Classification Standards (NAICS) Code is 518210 and Standard Business Size of $25.0 The sole source award will be conducted in accordance with FAR Part 13.106-1(b) only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirement. The sole source contractor is a nationally known and respected researcher; has documented records of analyzing and publishing reports on the population-based impact of arthritis in the United States; possesses a high caliber of work evidenced by collaboration with researchers at the top 5 medical research universities including Harvard and the University of California at San Francisco and the National Institute of Health. Contractor was coauthor on a report issued by the Prestigious National Academy of Sciences Institutes of Medicine on Arthritis. The contractor has over 20 years' experience in managing and analyzing health-related data. A large portion of the work is dedicated to work with data from the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey. A CDC search in PubMed confirmed the contractor's extensive background and experience in Arthritis related research projects required under this purchase. CDC is not requesting competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can provide the services required are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer no later than 2:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, by July 30, 2012. A determination not to compete the proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Respondents will assume all financial costs for preparing a response to this notice. The U.S. Government assumes no financial obligation for the preparation and distribution of prepared responses.
