The contract also mandates timely reporting of cybersecurity incidents that affect covered defense information or the systems containing it. Subcontractors must be required to notify the prime contractor immediately upon detection of a breach or compromise, and the prime contractor must escalate reporting in accordance with DFARS guidelines. All documentation related to compliance verification, incident responses, and variance approvals must be maintained and made available upon request. This obligation extends across all performance locations and applies to any subcontractor handling controlled unclassified information under the contract, with the Defense Logistics Agency as the overseeing agency under the Department of Defense.
