EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST SOUGHT LEASE REQUIREMENT - HUNTSVILLE, AL Requirement: The U. S. Government currently occupies 111,951 rentable square feet of space in a building under Government lease in Huntsville, AL, that will be expiring. The Government is seeking to renew the current lease unless an alternate proposal is received that provides an economic advantage to the Government. Location: All alternate buildings submitted for consideration must be located within the following delineated area: North: U. S. Hwy. 72 South: I-565 East: Sparkman Drive West: Hughes Road. Term: The lease term requirement is ten (10) years, five (5) years firm, with an occupancy date of April 1, 2010. Response: The Government's decision regarding whether or not to relocate will be based, in part, on information received in response to this advertisement, and a cost benefit analysis to determine whether to compete the lease requirement or pursue a sole source justification to remain at its current location. In making this determination, the Government will consider, among other things, the availability of comparable quality space, as well as costs likely to be incurred through relocating, such as the physical move costs, replication of tenant improvements and telecommunications infrastructure, and non-productive agency downtime. In addition, this is a Level IV secured facility and all cost to replicate the existing security enhancements will also be considered in the cost analysis.
