The suction unit is a compact, hand-operated field device designed for emergency evacuation of the oral pharynx, featuring a bulb that generates approximately 100 mmHg of vacuum force with each squeeze, expelling collected material into an attached disposable collection bag. The unit is small enough to fit inside a first-in bag or be carried in a pocket, making it ideal for rapid deployment in urgent medical scenarios. Both the bulb and collection bag have a combined capacity well over 1000 cc’s, ensuring sufficient volume for effective suction without frequent replacement. It is disposable, intended for single-use applications, and must be packaged in a sealed container that protects against damage or breakage, with exterior shipping containers meeting commercial standards to ensure safe, low-cost delivery to the specified point of performance at Hurlburt Field, Florida. All units must comply with Medical Marking Standard No. 1, superseding MIL-STD-129, and be marked accordingly with the NSN 6515-01-516-1581. The solicitation, issued under contract SPE2DS-26-T-292A, requires bidders to specify the source and part number, with delivery expected within 20 days and technical and quality requirements governed by the DLA Master List of Technical and Quality Requirements.
