The United States Department of Agriculture, through APHIS, has issued a sole source award to Bunzl Processor Division, LLC for a firm fixed price purchase order totaling 350,446.10 dollars. This procurement covers the acquisition of Jarvis brand Super Heavy Duty C Stunner parts and hog snares, which are essential for the depopulation of swine during African Swine Fever outbreaks. The order includes a variety of components such as stunners, various loads, firing pins, and buffers, all to be delivered to a warehouse in Kansas City, Missouri. This action was approved as a sole source award because Bunzl Processor Division, LLC is the exclusive U.S. distributor for Jarvis handheld stunners. The agency determined that this specific brand is necessary to maintain consistency with the National Veterinary Stockpile and because agency responders are already trained and certified on this specific system. Furthermore, the equipment complies with American Veterinary Medical Association guidelines for animal welfare. The contracting officer deemed the pricing fair and reasonable based on previous government purchases and current commercial market rates.
