York University is seeking to replace an aging deaerator in its Central Utilities Building, originally installed in 1965, to improve boiler system efficiency and reduce corrosion by removing dissolved oxygen from feedwater. The replacement must be carefully scheduled due to operational constraints that limit the deaerator to being offline only during specific months of the year. Installation will require coordination with a separate contractor for access through an exterior wall on the mezzanine level. Only proponents registered on MERX who obtain the official bid documents through that platform are eligible to submit proposals; unregistered submissions will be disqualified. Proposals must be submitted via the BonfireHub platform by May 20, 2026, at 3:00 PM EST, and must include mandatory components such as an executive summary, qualifications and experience, detailed deliverables, a work timetable, references, pricing under Section 9.0, and formal acknowledgments. Evaluation will be scored based on qualifications, experience, deliverables, references, and financial competitiveness, and all submissions must be in English. This procurement is governed by Chapter 5 of the Canadian Free Trade Agreement and is structured as a one-time purchase with no standing agreement. York University reserves the right to negotiate with any proponent without obligation to others. The solicitation number is P27-009, and all official information is contained within the RFP documents available on MERX, which take precedence over this notice. Fees may apply for document access, and point of contact for inquiries is John Chen at johnch@yorku.ca.
