The contract involves a sole-source procurement under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) for commercial supplies or services related to the support and maintenance of the Lenel Onguard Security System at the National Defense University. Stanley Convergent Security Solutions, Inc. is the only authorized vendor eligible to provide these services because they originally installed the system, and much of the equipment remains under warranty. Engaging any other supplier for repairs would void this warranty, justifying the sole-source approach. Interested parties may submit their capability statements within three days of the notice’s publication, although this notice does not constitute a request for competitive proposals. The government reserves the right to decide whether to pursue a competitive procurement based on the information received. The contract solicitation number is N0018915RCA17 and falls under NAICS code 541330, covering engineering services. Responses must be sent by email to Gale Bonno at the specified address referencing the identification number HQ0100-5233-A171, with a submission deadline of 12:00 EST on September 19, 2015. The purpose of this contract is to ensure continued support for the security system installed at the National Defense University without risking the existing warranty, emphasizing the critical need for specialized maintenance by the original equipment provider.
