This contract action, managed by the Defense Logistics Agency Land Warren, is for the procurement of 55 electronic switches, specifically Pulse Jet Control Unit Assemblies, with an additional 100 percent option for a total of 110 units. The items, identified by NSN 5930-01-406-9318 and Military Part Number 12387589, are intended for use in the M1A2-SEP vehicle system. The total estimated value of the requirement is 928,572.70 dollars with shipping terms set as FOB Destination. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the government intends to solicit and negotiate with General Dynamics Land Systems Tallahassee Operations as the sole source. This determination is based on the contractor's ownership of proprietary technical data, which makes the cost and time required to qualify an alternative source prohibitive. The procurement process may utilize a reverse auction as a pricing technique, requiring participating contractors to be registered and trained in the specific auction system.
