Sycamore Hub

The Project is the purchase, minor alterations, and operation of two existing commercial buildings at 13575 and 13635 Sycamore Avenue, San Martin, in unincorporated Santa Clara County to serve as a logistics hub and fleet maintenance facility for the Santa Clara County Central Fire Protection District (“Fire District”). The Project will allow the Fire District to receive, stage, and ship materials and supplies to support the fire stations in the former territory of the South Santa Clara County Fire District (“South County Fire District”). On April 2, 2025, the Local Agency Formation Commission of Santa Clara County (LAFCO) adopted Resolution No. 2025-1, approving the dissolution of the South County Fire District and the concurrent annexation of its territory (“District Reorganization”) effective July 1, 2025. The Project will also allow the Fire District to maintain and repair fire apparatus and light duty fleet vehicles that serve the area. The Project site and buildings were previously used as a recreational vehicle dealership and recreational vehicle service center. The Project site and buildings will continue to be used for vehicle maintenance and repairs and for storage of supplies (e.g., hose, nozzles, small tools, and radios). The Project site is centrally located in the District’s Zone 4 service area and will provide support services from Monday through Friday during normal business hours. The Project does not include a new fire station. The Project involves minor interior renovations to facilitate the installation of emergency communications radio receivers and speakers, and fiber-optic cabling for data systems. The Project also involves minor exterior improvements, including updated signage on existing monuments and new gates and fencing to limit public access. Finally, the Project will eventually include interior renovations to upgrade and build out indoor warehouse racking and storage; to repair and update existing vehicle service bays, bathrooms, and break areas; and to add a conveyance system for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
