The Regional Health Contracting Office - Atlantic at Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, is seeking a sole source procurement from Cartiva, Inc. for synthetic cartilage implants. Specifically, the requirement is for Cartiva MTP Implants in 8mm and 10mm sizes to be used in a surgical procedure scheduled for December 11, 2018. These implants are designated as physician preferred for treating painful degenerative or post-traumatic arthritis in the first metatarsophalangeal joint, offering benefits such as reduced surgical time, faster recovery, and improved range of motion compared to joint fusion. Under solicitation number W91YTZ-19-Q-0084, the contract specifies that the products must have FDA approval. Because the exact implant size cannot be determined until the surgery, both sizes are requested, though only one will be utilized. All responses for this presolicitation were due by December 10, 2018. The primary point of contact for this requirement is Purchasing Agent Cynthia A. Richardson.
