Construction On State Highway In Los Angeles County In Agoura Hills Near Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Overcrossing
Solicitation # 20260731026
The project entails the installation of wildlife exclusionary fencing, specifically Type CL-12 and CL-14, along State Highway 101 in Agoura Hills, Los Angeles County, near the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Overcrossing, along with associated outriggers to prevent wildlife from breaching the barrier through digging or climbing. The scope includes removing existing fencing and appurtenances, clearing and grubbing the area, and implementing comprehensive temporary traffic control measures in strict accordance with approved charts that account for freeway and ramp closures, including special provisions for holidays and public events. The fencing design incorporates detailed features such as mesh skirts and buried fabric to deter burrowing, with outrigger caps engineered to enhance structural integrity and deter climbing. Environmental compliance is a critical requirement, particularly regarding the handling of unregulated earth material that may contain lead, necessitating proper containment and disposal procedures. The work must adhere to prevailing wage laws and other regulatory standards to ensure workforce compensation and safety. All activities are subject to stringent oversight to protect local wildlife habitats and maintain public safety during construction. The contract is issued by the California Department of Transportation with a response deadline of August 6, 2026, and is classified under NAICS code 238990 for other heavy and civil engineering construction services.
