The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD) plans to issue a no-cost modification to contract N63394-04-D-1262 with CACI Technologies, Incorporated of Chantilly, Virginia. This modification extends the period of performance by five and a half months for continued delivery of systems engineering, technical, training, software, and logistics support related to the Integrated Ship Defense (ISD) program. These services specifically support the Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) MK2, a major acquisition category (ACAT 1) program for the U.S. Navy, including activities related to the Combat Systems & Interior Communications Switchboards. The extension provides additional time to transition work to the upcoming competitive SeaPort-e follow-on contract currently in process, with a targeted modification award date of December 12, 2011. The contract falls under NAICS code 541330 and is managed by the Department of Defense through the Commanding Officer at NSWC PHD in Port Hueneme, California. The contract modification will be awarded on a sole-source basis under FAR 6.302 authority, although the government has issued a notice to identify any potential sources interested in the requirement. Responses received within the specified timeframe will be reviewed to determine whether to proceed with a competitive procurement. However, the government reserves full discretion in deciding whether to maintain a sole-source approach. This extension maintains support continuity for critical naval defense systems while ensuring an orderly transition to a competitively awarded follow-on contract.
