Talmage and Pomo MGS

Caltrans District 1 Eureka is forecasting a project titled Talmage and Pomo MGS to improve motorist safety and reduce collision severity in Mendocino County. The scope of work involves the construction of guardrail systems at two specific locations: Highway 101 at postmile 28.6 and Highway 222 at postmile L0.5. The project requires the removal of existing guardrails and crash cushions and the installation of new systems including MGS, terminal systems, transition railing, and concrete barrier transitions. Additional requirements include vegetation control, minor concrete work, and the removal and replacement of dikes and overside drains. All work will be performed within the existing Caltrans Right of Way and is classified under NAICS code 237310. The project is exempt from certain environmental reviews under Class 1 of the California Code of Regulations, title 14, section 15301, as it is considered maintenance of existing facilities with no significant environmental or historic impact.
