Rock Creek Road At Rock Creek Bridge Engineering Design Services
Solicitation # 216854
Nevada County is soliciting professional engineering design services for the replacement of the Rock Creek Road at Rock Creek Bridge (17C0057). The project involves replacing a 1920s single-lane, load-restricted steel girder and timber deck bridge with a longer, single-span two-lane bridge. The selected consultant must perform a detailed cost-benefit analysis of construction alternatives, conduct hydraulic and hydrologic studies, and perform geotechnical exploration. A critical requirement of the project is that no detour or extended road closure is permitted during construction, and the design must avoid new abutments in the creek. This Highway Bridge Program funded project requires compliance with various federal and state regulations, including the Davis-Bacon Act, prevailing wage requirements, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Deliverables include monthly progress reports and independent value engineering and constructability reviews at the 60, 90, and 100 percent completion stages. Proposals must be submitted by November 30, 2026, and include four printed copies, one electronic PDF copy, and a separate sealed envelope containing pricing information. Evaluation will be based on a numerical point system, and the local vendor preference policy will not be applied.
