*** THIS IS NOT A BID *** The description of services intended for purchase from a single source is posted in accordance with section 3.9, Procurement Ordinance 25-11, and will be posted for a minimum of 15 business days. Commodity or Service Required: Purchase of Teleflex EZ-IO Medical Supplies Description: Lee County Public Safety seeks to execute a single-source procurement for needle sets and power driver technology used in the Arrow EZ-IO Intraosseous Vascular Access System by Teleflex, LLC. This system is currently utilized by Lee County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel to rapidly establish vascular access when traditional intravenous (IV) access is difficult or cannot be obtained promptly. EMS personnel have received specialized training and certification in the proper use of this system, ensuring familiarity with the equipment and supporting its safe and effective application during emergency medical situations. Intended Single Source: Teleflex, LLC. Justification for Single Source Acquisition: Teleflex is the sole provider of the EZ-IO Intraosseous Vascular Access System currently utilized by Lee County Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Continued procurement of these products ensures consistency with existing equipment, established clinical protocols, and personnel training. Transitioning to an alternative product line would require significant additional expenditures for replacement equipment and comprehensive training of all EMS personnel to ensure proper operation and continued patient safety. Maintaining the existing EZ-IO system supports operational continuity, minimizes unnecessary costs, and ensures EMS personnel remain equipped to provide timely and effective emergency medical care. Recommended Procurement Approach: For the reason(s) stated above, Lee County Procurement Management intends to utilize the Single Source Procurement method to purchase from Teleflex, LLC. to supply the above. Respond to: If your firm feels they have the ability to supply the above, please contact Chris Jagodzinski, Lee County Procurement Management at [email protected] for review.
