Tender for Supply and Delivery of Garbage Drums as and when Required

The City of Hamilton is seeking tenders for the supply and delivery of approximately 800 open-top, 55-gallon steel garbage drums annually on an as-required basis. The drums must be painted green with an epoxy phenolic interior coating and meet strict quality standards, being free of punctures, corrosion, and contaminants. Deliveries are to be made FOB Destination to various locations throughout the city within 15 business days of a purchase order. The contract term is for one year, and the award will be granted to the lowest compliant bidder. A price preference is applied where U.S. businesses must be at least 25% lower in price than the lowest compliant Canadian or non-U.S. business bid to be considered. Electronic submissions are mandatory via the City's bidding system by October 23, 2026, at 3:00 PM. Bidders must provide a completed Schedule of Prices, Form of Tender, Business Structure, and Business Attestation Form. Required insurance includes non-owned automobile liability of at least 2 million dollars per occurrence. The successful bidder must adhere to strict customer service standards, including confirming order receipts within one business day and responding to inquiries within two business days. Any rejected drums must be replaced at no cost to the City within five business days. Payments will be processed via electronic funds transfer to a Canadian chartered bank.
