Terra Cotta Middle School New Classroom Building Project

The Lake Elsinore Unified School District is undertaking a project to replace sixteen aging modular classrooms and associated structures on the eastern portion of Terra Cotta Middle School’s campus, adjacent to Grand Avenue. The project includes the removal of the sixteen modular classrooms, one shade structure, and one modular restroom building, while seven modular classrooms and two modular restrooms will remain in service. In their place, a new 15,720-square-foot permanent classroom building will be constructed, featuring ten classrooms, restrooms, a kitchen, storage space, and a mechanical room, along with an exterior covered lunch shelter. The new facility is designed to meet current educational needs without increasing the school’s student capacity. To support safety and infrastructure requirements, the project will install a new fire lane and fire hydrant between the new building and the remaining modular structures, connecting to an existing fire lane that links to Grand Avenue. Construction, planned as a single phase from February 2027 to March 2028, will involve site grading, utility trenching, and integration of new electrical, fiber optic, gas, and water lines with the campus’s existing utility network. The project is being managed by the District’s Facilities Division, with Brad Runge, Director of Facilities, serving as the primary point of contact.
