This notice of intent is not a request for quotes and no solicitation is available. A determination not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The 42nd Contracting Squadron at Maxwell AFB, AL hereby gives notice of intent to award a sole source contract to High Stakes Writing and Jones & Bartlett, 8131 Briar Creek Dr. Annadale VA 22003-4637 The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 511130 for the purchase of Science of Flight books for the Air Force Junior Officer Reserve Training Corps. Description of the Requirement: The contractor must provide the items as specified in the following CLIN structure. Item No. Description of Requirement Quantity 0001 Science of Flight 2008 EA High Stakes Writing is the only authorized publisher of Jones & Barlett's Science of Flight book. This requirement is to help the Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) cadets with their end of course exam that is built around this book. A previous contract (FA3300-10-D-0024) states that High Stakes Writing and Jones & Bartlett are propieters of this textbook. Finally, the Government desires to change the course as little as possible. The NAICS Code is 511130, and the small business size is 1,000 employees. As implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b)(1), this will be a firm fixed price contract. If there are any other businesses that can provide the specified services, they must respond to this notice before 13 June 2017 at 11:00 a.m. CDT. Firms responding to this intent to sole source are asked to provide the following information in their initial response: company's full name, business size, address, point of contact, and a clear indication as to whether or not they can provide the item the government is seeking. Oral submissions of information are not acceptable, and will not be accepted in response to this notice.
