The Dog Stop

The Dog Stop project, managed by the City of Vacaville, involves amending the Vacaville Municipal Code to establish new policies, procedures, and standards for animal shelter and boarding, specifically allowing these activities within CG zoning districts. The primary objective is to establish a dog boarding facility at 848A Alamo Drive and other general commercial zoned properties citywide. This facility will be located within an existing tenant space and will provide overnight boarding, daycare, and grooming services. The scope of work is limited to the existing tenant space and commercial center, utilizing existing utilities and roadways. Physical improvements include tenant modifications, the installation of trash enclosures, and the construction of small structures. The project has been granted a Notice of Exemption under California Environmental Quality Act Sections 15301 and 15303, citing the use of existing facilities and the small scale of construction. The project is overseen by the City of Vacaville as the lead agency, with Brenna Glischinski serving as the Assistant Planner and Mark Henrikson as the applicant.
