The University of Western Ontario is inviting qualified suppliers to submit proposals for the supply and installation of a Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DXA) system, aimed at measuring body composition and bone mineral density in research participants across diverse age groups including children, teens, older adults, and healthy volunteers. The system will be used in a laboratory setting with an anticipated usage of up to three scans per day, primarily to support clinical trials in Physical Therapy and Kinesiology, particularly for evaluating the effects of exercise interventions, as well as providing critical demographic data for studies on mobility, balance, and hearing. The estimated budget for the project is CAD $259,900 plus HST, and delivery is expected in Fall 2026 with the agreement duration beginning upon successful receipt and installation of the equipment and fulfillment of all contractual obligations. Submissions must be made electronically via the BonfireHub portal by the deadline of May 21, 2026 at 12:00 PM ET, and must include mandatory documentation such as the Submission Form, Rate Bid Form, Reference Form, Deliverables and Technical Requirements Questionnaire, and Sustainability Supporting Documentation. Proposals will be evaluated based on experience, qualifications, technical and functional compliance, service and support offerings, value-added ideas, sustainability, accessibility under AODA, and pricing. Only shortlisted suppliers will be invited to present. The procurement process follows the Canadian Free Trade Agreement and may involve post-evaluation negotiations with one or more qualified bidders. All responses must be in English, and suppliers are advised to consult the complete tender documents on BonfireHub for the most accurate and updated requirements, as any discrepancies between the notice and the full documents will be resolved in favor of the latter. Additional information may be available on Merx, though fees may apply.
