The Triangle Specific Plan (SP0-007-2452)

The City of Murrieta has entered into Development Agreement DA-2024-00004 for The Shops at the Triangle project, which was officially approved via Ordinance No. 623-25 on September 16, 2025. The project involves a 64.3-acre site bounded by Murrieta Hot Springs Road, I-15, and I-215. This agreement supports a Specific Plan that permits the development of 1.76 million square feet of retail space and includes specific requirements for billboard relocation and off-site traffic improvements. The project has been certified as compliant with the California Environmental Quality Act, utilizing a Subsequent Environmental Impact Report from 2013 and a corresponding addendum to ensure no significant new environmental effects. Administrative oversight is managed by the City of Murrieta Development Services Department, with David Chantarangsu serving as the Development Services Director and primary point of contact.
