Full Description

The following represents the Notice of Intent that will be posted on FedBizOpps.gov. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food Safety Inspection Service (FSIS) intends to negotiate solely with Thermo Electron North America LLC, 1400 Northpoint, Pkwy Suite10; 5225 Verona Road West Palm Beach, FL 33407 Madison, WI 53711 to obtain maintenance and service support to: TSQ Quantum MS TQU03802 RS Vacuum Degasser 8062251 RS Pump 8062327 RS Autosampler 8062259 RS Column Compartment 8061969 The equipment is proprietary of Thermo Electron North America LLC, the only known source which can provide the required service to the current requirements. This procurement will be conducted under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 - Only One Responsible Source and no Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements Citation: 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1). The period of performance will be for a 12 month base period. The vendor shall send a technician to perform service within 1 to 3 business days of maintenance service call to guarantee equipment listed under warranty. The vendor shall respond within 48 hours for emergency service calls. The vendor shall provide unlimited telephone support, labor, travel expenses and parts on-demand service visits at no extra cost. This requirement is not for new service it's for continuous maintenance service on existing equipment that is currently under warranty. Computers purchased from Thermo and are required for the operation of the system which is covered under a Support Plan. Engineer labor and travel cost must be included. This is not a request for quotations or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. Request for copies of this solicitation will not be honored or acknowledged. The Government does not intend to pay for information received. All interested parties must respond within three (3) calendar days from the date of this notice. Written responses must provide clear and concise documentation indicating your firm's capability to provide the proprietary services. Verbal responses are not acceptable and will not be considered. When responding to this announcement, respondents should refer to announcement #903810. If no viable responses have been received in response after Friday, June 8, 2016, 5:00 pm E.S.T to this announcement, USDA/FSIS shall negotiate solely Thermo Electron North America LLC
