This Black Hills National Forest stewardship project opportunity is in accordance with Section 323 of Public Law 108-7 (16 U.S.C. 2104 Note, as revised February 28, 2003 to reflect sec. 323 of J.J. Res. 2 as enrolled), the Consolidated Appropriations Resolution, 2003, amending Public Law 105-277, sec. 347. This commercial item acquisition has been tailored to fit the Government's method of trading goods for services. There are seven treatment units in this project. The project includes the removal of all marked trees within the units. The Forest Service estimates the volume of the marked trees at 1832 CCF of saw timber and 1051 CCF of products other than logs (POL) of Ponderosa Pine and other Conifers. Additional volume will be added to the contract once the landing locations are agreed upon. Timber Removal activities shall be scheduled and carried out in accordance with the Timber Removal Specifications. Additional information is attached to this notification describing contact line items, quantities and units of measure and description of requirements. Neither a Pre-quote tour nor site visit is scheduled. It is the contractor's responsibility to familiarize themselves with the normal terrain. Contractors are strongly encouraged to review the contract area, and make their own determination of the volume of marked trees.
