The Tom Paine Slough Geotechnical Investigations Project include soil borings and potentially cone penetration tests (CPTs) which will be used to obtain subsurface information in the vicinity of a siphon facility owned and operated by the Pescadero Reclamation District 2058. These geotechnical investigations would inform the development of design and engineering for a future project that would replace the existing siphon structures with an equivalent structure. The proposed project includes up to 9 over-water borings, and up to 7 on-land borings. All borings will have a maximum diameter of 8 inches and a maximum depth of 150 feet below ground/channel bottom. Up to 4 of the proposed on-land borings may be replaced with CPTs, which will advance to a maximum depth of approximately 100 feet. Project activities are expected to begin in summer of 2026.
