This is the first phase (Phase 1) of a two-phase competition: the first phase will evaluate the qualifications of all bidders; second phase (Phase 2) will invite the qualified bidders to provide a financial bid on the project based on the specifications and drawings. Upon award of contract in Phase Two the pre-qualification list will be terminated, no additional contracts will be awarded.Work under this contract includes the following components:Removal and transportation of existing Aid to Navigation Tower;Demolition of existing wood foundation/dock as well as additional abandoned concrete foundation;Site specific design of new concrete foundation, stamped by a registered engineer;Installation of new rip-rap to build up existing break-water around tower;Installation of site specific concrete foundation as per approved design;Installation of Canadian Coast Guard provided Aid to Navigation Tower.The existing tower is positioned on a wooden dock that has been damaged and in disrepair for some time and poses a high safety risk. The town of Callander is repairing the breakwater that has also been in disrepair for some time.Duration of contract: The Contractor must perform and complete the Work by September 29th, 2023.
