Transfer of Central Coast Water Authority’s 2026 State Water Project Table A Water and/or Article 56 Carryover Water to Dudley Ridge Water District

Contracts SWP 26028, 26029, and 26030 facilitate the transfer of the Central Coast Water Authority's approved 2026 State Water Project Table A and Article 56 Carryover Water to the Kern County Water Agency and Dudley Ridge through December 31, 2026. Specifically, SWP 26028 covers the delivery of up to 20,469 acre-feet of Table A water to Dudley Ridge and or the Kern County Water Agency. SWP 26029 manages the transfer of 1,640 acre-feet of Article 56 Carryover Water to Dudley Ridge, while SWP 26030 handles the transfer of 7,960 acre-feet of Article 56 Carryover Water to the Kern County Water Agency for its Westside Districts member units, including the Belridge, Berrenda Mesa, Lost Hills, and Wheeler Ridge Maricopa Water Storage Districts. The Department of Water Resources has filed a Notice of Exemption for these activities, designating them as Categorically Exempt under CEQA Guidelines Section 15301 because the transfers utilize existing facilities and require no new construction or land use changes. The project is coordinated by the California Department of Water Resources and involves key management personnel from the Central Coast Water Authority, Dudley Ridge Water District, and the Kern County Water Agency.
