AI Contract Overview

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst intends to award a sole source contract to ATAP, Inc. for the procurement of eight Transportation Ejection Seat Cradles, part number 64A127J1-1. These cradles are essential for the handling and transportation of seats for the F/A-18 E-F platform in support of the Foreign Military Sales case for Kuwait. The procurement is being conducted under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (c) (1) and FAR 6.302-1. The government has determined that a sole source award is necessary because it does not possess the technical data package or drawings required for competitive bidding. Utilizing an alternative source would result in significant additional costs and delays due to the need for preliminary and critical design reviews, first article testing, and evaluation efforts. Furthermore, an alternate asset would not be compatible or interchangeable with the USN-approved configuration. Interested sources had fifteen days from the publication date of June 27, 2022, to submit responses for consideration.

All responsible sources may submit a response which may be considered by the Government in determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS.
