Treasury Board and Finance - Request for Proposal - Medical Assessment

The Government of Alberta is seeking qualified proponents to deliver Medical Assessment Services under its Care-First recovery-focused auto insurance system, established under the AIA and its regulations. These assessments are independent, multidisciplinary evaluations designed to support timely, consistent, and evidence-based decisions when a claimant’s recovery from a motor vehicle accident is not progressing as expected. The assessments do not determine liability or fault but instead clarify diagnoses, identify barriers to recovery, evaluate functional abilities, and provide treatment and recovery recommendations. Services must be available across the entire province and must address both physical and non-physical injuries resulting from motor vehicle accidents, ensuring accessibility, consistency, and timeliness in response to insurer requests. Proponents must demonstrate the capacity to coordinate a team of qualified Medical Assessors and deliver services in alignment with Care-First policy and regulatory requirements.
