Truckee Regional Library

The Truckee Library Joint Powers Authority is overseeing the construction of the Truckee Regional Library, a 20,100-square-foot single-story public facility located at 10050 Brockway Road within the Truckee River Regional Park in Truckee, California. The project scope includes the development of outdoor community programming areas such as patios, gathering spaces, and a children's outdoor reading and play area. Site improvements consist of approximately 37 parking spaces with ADA-compliant stalls, utility infrastructure, and circulation enhancements for vehicles, pedestrians, and bicycles. Additionally, the project requires the realignment of a segment of the Truckee River Legacy Trail and the conversion of the Brockway Road and Palisades Drive intersection from a three-legged to a four-legged intersection to provide direct site access. The project is subject to comprehensive environmental and technical requirements under the California Environmental Quality Act, including a Mitigated Negative Declaration to address impacts on air quality, biological resources, noise, and tribal cultural resources. Key technical mandates include adherence to Town of Truckee Public Improvement Engineering and Low Impact Development standards for drainage, as well as specific geotechnical recommendations for foundation and seismic design. Special requirements include the implementation of a Dust Control Plan and mandatory Tribal Cultural Resources awareness training for all construction personnel. Project management is led by Joshua White, Facilities Program Manager, with oversight ensuring compliance with the Town of Truckee 2040 General Plan and Caltrans signal design approvals.
