Turf Care and Landscape Maintenance

Spartanburg School District 4 is soliciting competitive proposals under RFP-2026-001 for professional athletic turf care, landscaping, and grounds maintenance services at Woodruff High School. The selected contractor will be responsible for the comprehensive maintenance of the practice field, band field, and future football and track and field areas. Key requirements include specific mowing frequencies, such as reel mowing the football practice and future track areas twice weekly from April to October at a one-inch height, and ensuring mowers are dedicated exclusively to the district's fields to prevent seed contamination. The contract is a total fixed-cost annual agreement beginning in January 2027, with a potential one-year renewal option starting January 2028. Qualified bidders must possess a South Carolina pesticide license and demonstrated experience in school athletic turf management. Award selection is based on a 100-point evaluation system. Upon award, the contractor must provide a detailed employee list for SLED and offender background checks and maintain significant insurance coverages, including 2 million dollars in general liability and 500 thousand dollars in workers compensation. Invoicing will occur monthly based on the actual number of cuts performed.
