TYPE 3H FIRE ENGINES

The USDA Forest Service is soliciting proposals under RFQ 12318726Q0197 for the procurement of five Type 3H Heavy fire engines in a body-only configuration. These units will be installed on government-furnished 4X4 cab and chassis and must adhere to Forest Service national standard specifications and NFPA 1900 standards. The scope of work encompasses chassis modifications and preparation, installation of the body, a 750-gallon water tank, fire pump, warning lights, and a specific graphics package. The contract is intended as a firm-fixed-price, 100% total small business set-aside, with delivery expected within 24 months of the receipt of the first government-furnished chassis. Key requirements include the provision of on-site familiarization training and delivery to locations in Colorado, Oregon, and South Dakota. The apparatus must be painted Forest Service Green and undergo rigorous testing prior to government acceptance, including a tilt test at estimated in-service weight, a 30-minute pumping test at rated capacity, and vacuum and pressure tests of the piping and primer system. Detailed marking and labeling are required for the cab interior, pump panel, and vehicle exterior to ensure safety and operational compliance. All equipment must be new and unused, meeting current NFPA and OSHA safety regulations.
