The Collective Protection Conference and Exhibition took place from June 21 to 23, 2005, at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Resort and Conference Center in Monterey, California. Sponsored by the Joint Program Office for Collective Protection, the event focused on addressing the growing threat of chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons proliferation, particularly regarding their impact on U.S. forces and homeland defense. The conference aimed to promote collaboration among government agencies, academia, industry, and international participants to develop innovative technologies and systems for joint collective protection. Key topics included advanced air purification, improved environmental and shelter systems, lightweight and transportable materials, and miniaturized modular components designed to overcome current constraints related to weight, power, and space in protection platforms. Government attendees were offered rooms at the prevailing 2005 per diem rate, with discounted pricing available by early reservation under the NDIA Collective Protection Conference rate. Additional fees applied for resort services, which included bottled water, local and toll-free phone calls, and food and beverage credits at on-site restaurants. Attendees were encouraged to make timely reservations, as rooms were held only until May 20, 2005, after which rates could increase and availability was not guaranteed. For more information or assistance, contacts were provided for both conference programming and registration logistics. The contract details highlight the involvement of various organizational contacts and provide access points for further inquiry and registration through the NDIA website and designated officials.
