The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 22, intends to award a sole source firm fixed price contract under the authority of the authority of FAR 13.106-1., to University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Division of Geriatrics, 10995 Le Conte Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90024 for the period of 1 January 2020 through 30 June 2020. The proposed action will acquire and support for an education and training for the caregivers of dementia patients under the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (VAGLAHS) Rural Interdisciplinary Team Training (RITT) and Resources for Enhancing All Caregivers Health (REACH) Program. This contract will enable the VAGLAHS to fill a gap and maintain equity in the programs that the VA delivers to rural clinics. UCLA is a premier university in the field of geriatrics and gerontology and consistently ranked in the top five geriatrics education programs in the United States. UCLA division of geriatric medicine sponsors the largest geriatric medicine fellowship program in the country in conjunction with the VA Office of Academic Affiliations through the UCLA Multi-campus Program in Geriatrics and Gerontology. All of its clinician/educators are familiar with VA healthcare. This notice of intent is neither a formal solicitation nor a request for competitive proposals. This notice is to comply with the posting requirements identified in FAR Part 5. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No award will be made on the basis of unsolicited quotations or offers received in response to this notice. Any response to this notice must show clear, compelling and convincing evidence that competition will be advantageous to the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this action based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
