The U.S. Coast Guard is organizing a one-day Industry Meeting on August 21, 2008, in Seattle, WA, to discuss upcoming Best Value 2-Step Multiple Award Design Build and Construction Contracts. These contracts fall under various NAICS codes related to construction, with a small business size standard set at $31 million. The Coast Guard plans to issue two solicitations: a National Multiple Award Design Build Construction Contract (National MACC) released on an unrestricted basis and a Regional Multiple Award Design Build and Construction Contract (Regional MACC) intended to be set aside for HUBZone, 8(a), or Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB). The National MACC will allow awards covering work across all U.S. states and territories, with contracts valued up to $200 million, task orders ranging from $3 million to $20 million, and contracts including a base period plus nine one-year options. The Regional MACC will be geographically defined by Coast Guard Districts, with contracts up to $10 million, task orders between $2,000 and $5 million, and similarly structured contract terms. The meeting agenda includes a morning session focused on the Regional MACC and an afternoon session on the National MACC, providing time for networking among contractors, the Coast Guard, and the Small Business Administration. Attendees are encouraged to bring detailed firm information, including past performance and socio-economic certifications. Firms with HUBZone, 8(a), or SDVOSB certifications intending to submit offers are requested to confirm participation via email by July 17, 2008. The final decision on the type of set-aside will be announced on the Electronic Posting System (EPS) website.
