The U.S. Coast Guard Shore Infrastructure Logistics Center (SILC) Base Support and Services Contracting Office provides a transparent platform for businesses interested in contracting with the Coast Guard by posting upcoming requirements on the Acquisition Planning and Forecast System (APFS) website. Opportunities exceeding $250,000 are made available early in the process to give vendors insight into the nature, scope, and timing of projects, along with relevant contact information. The SILC BSS office is structured into four branches, each focused on specific contracting functions: emergency response contracting for incidents like oil spills and natural disasters; commercial support services including base operating support, security, and maintenance; purchasing and utilities contracts under $250,000; and specialized contracts for navigational aids and non-routine base services. Interested parties can explore available opportunities by filtering searches under the USCG/SILC-BASE component on the APFS site, ensuring easier access to relevant solicitations. The office facilitates industry engagement through events such as the FY2020 Industry Day held in Tidewater, VA, which is announced via the Small Business Events section on Beta.Sam.Gov. For further inquiries or detailed information, the SILC BSS small business office encourages email communication. The contracting office’s details, including the solicitation number, NAICS code, and primary contact person, William S. Lindsay, are provided to streamline vendor outreach and support collaboration with the Department of Homeland Security’s logistics operations.
