Nonstructural Performance Category -5 (NPC-5) represents the highest level of nonstructural seismic compliance, requiring that all critical systems and utilities needed for patient care and safety remain operational after a major earthquake. This includes external connections to public utilities and verification of system operability under post-earthquake conditions.
