AI Contract Overview
The contract concerns the procurement of the UH-1N Signal Data Processor for Robins Air Force Base in Georgia. This component is vital to the UH-1N helicopter's avionics, providing computation of the relative altitude and range of nearby transponder-equipped aircraft, and offering comprehensive traffic and proximity alert capabilities. Additionally, it interfaces with external heading indicators to improve tracking of potential threats during aircraft maneuvers. The procurement is specifically for National Stock Number 5895016545633GA and Part Number 700-00185-001. This acquisition is designated as a sources sought notice and not a request for proposal, with submissions due by October 21, 2025, to the designated government contact. The Government intends to use ‘Other Than Full and Open Competition,’ as only Avidyne Corporation holds the necessary technical expertise and data rights to fulfill this requirement. No technical data or drawings are available to enable other vendors to compete, creating a sole-source situation due to proprietary knowledge and compatibility concerns. Responses are voluntary and do not guarantee any contract award, nor does the government provide funding for the preparation of responses. The Department of Defense, via its DLA Aviation office at Warner Robins, oversees this initiative.
